Who this applies to​

This policy applies to visitors of this documentation site. It is maintained by the Circuitscript project.

What we collect​

Analytics (Google Analytics)​

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — e.g. which pages are viewed, how often, and general traffic sources. This processing relies on your consent, given via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.

  • Consent-gated: analytics cookies and requests are blocked by default until you click Accept on the banner. If you click Decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics requests are sent.
  • IP anonymization: IP addresses are anonymized before being used for geolocation.
  • Retention: Google Analytics retains event and user-level data for 2 months before automatic deletion. Aggregated reporting data may be retained longer by Google.
  • Changing your choice: clearing this site's cookies and local storage for your browser will show the banner again, letting you change your choice at any time. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out across all sites that use Google Analytics.
  • International transfer: Google Analytics is operated by Google, which may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Google's own Privacy Policy and data processing terms describe the safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) used for these transfers.

Server / hosting logs​

Static pages on this site may be served through standard web hosting or CDN infrastructure that logs basic request metadata (e.g. IP address, user agent, requested URL) for operational and security purposes (such as detecting abuse), independent of the analytics consent choice described above. These logs are retained only as long as needed for that purpose and are not used for tracking or profiling.

Your rights​

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export data collected about you, and to withdraw consent at any time (which, for analytics, you can do immediately via the cookie banner reset described above). To exercise these rights or ask questions, reach out via the GitHub repository linked in this site's footer. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy​

This policy may be updated as the site or its analytics configuration changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
